Terms & Conditions

These are the terms for using the EMPO website and buying our digital products. We have kept them plain and fair — please read them so you know where you stand with us.

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Agreeing to these terms

These Terms & Conditions are an agreement between you and EMPO Training & Consultancy Services ("EMPO", "we", "us", "our"). They cover how you use our website at empomm.com and how you buy the digital products we sell online.

By browsing the site, sending us a message, or buying a product, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website or buy from us. Where you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to do so for that organisation.

Where you choose to email us or send us information through the site, we handle it in line with good-practice data protection and applicable Myanmar law, and — as a humanitarian organisation — with care for the people that information may concern.

Who we are

EMPO Training & Consultancy Services is a capacity-building organisation for the humanitarian sector, based in Yangon, Myanmar and founded in 2025. We work with NGOs, CSOs, INGOs and humanitarian professionals across Myanmar.

What we do falls into three areas:

  • Training — live online courses over Zoom, self-paced courses on EMPO Academy, and in-person workshops in Yangon and across Myanmar.
  • Consultancy — organisational development, MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning), proposal and report writing, organisational profiles, and website creation.
  • Digital products — toolkits, eBooks, and Excel and Kobo templates sold through our online store.

You can reach us any time by email at contact@empomm.com or by phone at +95 9 250 326 876.

Using the website

You are welcome to read, learn from, and share links to our pages. We ask that you use the site lawfully and in good faith. In particular, please do not:

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that breaks Myanmar law or harms others;
  • Try to break into, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site, its hosting, or its security;
  • Copy, scrape, or republish substantial parts of the site as if they were your own;
  • Misrepresent your identity or send us false or misleading information.

The website is a simple, static marketing site. It has no user accounts and no login — there is nothing to register for here. If a feature you expect is missing, that is usually by design, not an oversight.

Our content and your licence to use it

Everything that makes up EMPO is ours, unless we clearly say otherwise. That includes the website text, design, and images; the "EMPO" name and logo and our brand; and the content of our toolkits, eBooks, templates, and course materials. All of it is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights, and stays owned by EMPO (or by whoever we licensed it from).

What you may do with a product you buy

When you buy a digital product from us, you are buying a licence to use it — not ownership of the underlying work. The licence is held by the buyer: either you as an individual, or your organisation where the organisation is the purchaser. Subject to payment, that licence lets you:

  • Use the product for your own work, or within your own organisation, on your own projects;
  • Download it and keep backup copies for your own use, and adapt templates — for example, filling in an Excel or Kobo template — for your own projects;
  • Print copies for internal, non-commercial use within the buying individual's or organisation's own work.

What you may not do

To keep things fair for everyone who pays for our work, please do not:

  • Resell, sub-license, rent, or otherwise commercially distribute the files;
  • Share, upload, or pass paid files on to people or organisations who have not bought them — including by posting them publicly, sending the files to other organisations, or sharing login or download links;
  • Remove EMPO's name, logo, or credits, or present our materials as your own;
  • Use the EMPO name or brand to imply endorsement or partnership we have not agreed to in writing.

This licence is personal to the buyer — you or your organisation — and cannot be transferred without our written agreement. If you would like to use our materials more widely — for example, across a network or in your own paid training — just ask us. We are usually happy to find an arrangement that works.

Buying digital products

Our digital products are sold through our separate online store at empomm.com/sell-empo-products. The marketing pages on empomm.com simply point you there; the checkout itself takes place in the store.

  • Prices are shown in Myanmar Kyat (MMK).
  • Payment is made at checkout using the local methods offered there (for example, bank transfer or mobile wallet). Our marketing website never sees or stores your payment details.
  • Products are digital and downloadable. Delivery is either instant or, for some items, sent manually by us shortly after we confirm payment.
  • Your order is complete once payment is confirmed and the product (or download access) has been made available to you.

Please check the product description before you buy, so you know what you are getting — the format, what is included, and what it is for. If anything is unclear, email us at contact@empomm.com before purchasing and we will explain.

Refunds for digital products

Because our products are digital files, they cannot really be "returned" once you have downloaded them — so, as a rule, sales are final and refunds are limited. That said, we are not in the business of keeping money we have not earned. We will make it right when something has genuinely gone wrong on our side.

We will offer a repair, replacement, or refund where:

  • The file is faulty, corrupted, or will not download or open;
  • The product is materially not as described on the store page;
  • You were charged in error — for example, billed twice for the same item.

We are usually unable to refund simply because you changed your mind after downloading, bought the wrong item by mistake but can still use it, or did not read the description. Even then, talk to us — we would rather help you find the right product or sort out a problem than leave you stuck.

To ask about a refund, email contact@empomm.com within a reasonable time of your purchase, with your order details and a short note on what went wrong. We will reply and aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.

Training and consultancy engagements

These website terms cover browsing the site and buying our off-the-shelf digital products. They do not, on their own, govern our training courses, workshops, or consultancy work.

When you book a course or engage us for consultancy — such as organisational development, MEAL, proposal and report writing, or website creation — the details are set out in a separate quotation, proposal, or agreement. That document covers scope, fees, timelines, deliverables, and any cancellation or refund arrangements for that specific work, and it takes precedence over these terms for that engagement.

To discuss training or consultancy, contact us at contact@empomm.com or +95 9 250 326 876 and we will prepare a proposal.

EMPO runs separate platforms alongside this website, each with its own accounts, terms, and policies:

  • EMPO Academy (academy.empomm.com) — our online learning platform, with course accounts, verifiable certificates, and local Kyat payment.
  • EMPO Base (empobase.com) — operational systems for our partner organisations.

If you use those platforms, their own terms apply there — please read them. This website also links out to places like our social media channels (Facebook, Telegram, YouTube and LinkedIn). We do not control external websites and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own discretion.

Disclaimers

We put real care into our website and our materials, and we keep them as accurate and up to date as we reasonably can. Even so, the website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" — we cannot make formal guarantees about them. We do not promise that the site will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

Our training, toolkits, and resources are educational. They are designed to build skills and strengthen organisations — but they are not a guarantee of any particular outcome. In particular, taking a course or using a proposal toolkit does not guarantee that you will secure funding, win a grant, or achieve a specific result. Those outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

Nothing on the website is professional, legal, or financial advice for your specific situation. For consultancy advice tailored to your organisation, engage us directly under a separate agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, EMPO is not responsible for knock-on or indirect losses that come from using the website or our digital products — for example, lost profits, lost funding, lost data, or business interruption.

If you have paid us for a digital product and we are found liable for it despite the above, our total liability to you for that product will not exceed the amount you actually paid us for it. Where you have not paid us anything — for example, simply browsing the website or sending us a message — our liability to you is limited to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Myanmar law.

Your responsibilities

When you use our website or buy from us, you agree to:

  • Give accurate and complete information when you contact us or place an order;
  • Use the website, our products, and our materials lawfully and in line with these terms;
  • Keep any paid files and access links secure, and not share them with people who have not bought them;
  • Respect our intellectual property and the rights of others.

If you breach these terms — for example, by redistributing paid files — we may suspend your access to our products or services and take any further steps the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time — for example, when we add new products or improve how we work. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and the current version is the one that applies. We encourage you to check back now and then.

Any purchase you have already made is governed by the terms that were in place when you bought it, not by later changes.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the website, are governed by the laws of Myanmar. We will always try to resolve any concern directly and in good faith first — so please talk to us before anything escalates.
